Clear Vision Sponsors AFC Corsham U9 Leopards
24th May 2019
It has been a pleasure to continue our sponsorship of AFC Corsham U9 Leopards this season.
We were delighted to receive the following end of season review from the team's Manager Ian Pike:
"What can I say about this season as a team the boys have grown not only in stature, but their personalities are starting to take shape and grow as a team which is leading into great friendships on and off the field.
It has been a challenging but successful season for our Under 9 Leopards as we stepped up into a different ability level group of fixtures, which the boys attacked head on.
The 2018/19 season started well, as the boys put together some great performances, winning six League games on the trot, which the League obviously noticed. We then moved up to play the stronger teams in the age group in the Wiltshire area, but this didn’t faze the team and they all gave 100% in each game no matter who they played and what the result was.
Shortly after this the boys lost a couple of games and we could see their heads dropping but this wasn’t a problem as we see it as a big learning curve. It was pretty steep but all the boys took it in their stride and didn’t give up in any of the games. We then started winning some matches which proved the boys could play at this level and the smiles all returned to their faces which was great to see.
We have a team of mixed ability players and when all the team play we can give many teams a decent game. When we miss a few of the stronger players we tended to struggle and you can see that in the boys faces. But credit to every one of the Leopards for what they have completed over this season. All the boys should be very proud of the season and what they have achieved.
We’ve always said that this season would be a very challenging one. Playing a total of 23 games Won 11, Lost 11, Drawn 1, Scored 94, Conceded 90, also throw in an epic Cup match against Warminster Highbury losing the first leg 3 – 1 and winning the second leg 4 – 2 but narrowly losing 6 -5 which was by far the best game the Leopards have played. Even better than when we drew 3 – 3 against Staverton, who are probably the best U9 team in the Wiltshire League and every player stepped up and proved they belonged on the same pitch as the other team.
We’re building a very good football team which has a strong base and strong friendship between all the players no matter what the results are, we can add to the team in the hope to make it stronger. We have a strong Keeper in William Musselwhite who has developed so much over the year. Defenders Sam and Zach have made a strong partnership at the back. The Midfield of Felix, Shae and Theo have all played some excellent football this year. Tom has missed a few games but has come back scoring more goals which is great to see. Alex’s game has come along with his positioning and his tackling getting better. Kenzie has also helped in many positions and were still waiting to nail down his favourite position but that will come. Will Adams has played really well this year and scored a few goals also. Josh is constantly running and creating space for other players and has also scored a few goals. Finally we welcome Georgie to the Leopards and hopefully he can add something to the team in the coming season.

Finally I would like to say a big thank you to Clear Vision Accountancy who over the year have supported and sponsored the team with a complete new football strip and also provided a trophy for our Presentation Day and I hope the relationship between Clear Vision Accountancy and AFC Corsham Leapards will continue throughout the coming U10 Season and beyond."
