New Payslip Rules from 6 April 2019

26th October 2018

Currently, employers only need to provide employees with the gross amount of wages or salary, any deductions made and the net amount of pay received.

From 6 April 2019 any worker paid on an hourly basis will be due a payslip showing the number of hours they worked.  Where an employee is paid at a variable rate, this also needs to be detailed.

The purpose of this change is to enable them to establish that they have been paid correctly under the National Minimum Wage rules.
